Kindergarten Counts!

Little Ted’s has a 20 place Kindergarten as part of the child care centre. Our Kindergarten program is delivered by qualified early childhood teachers and runs from 8.30am until 4pm daily, 40 weeks per year.

At Kindergarten your child will grow socially and emotionally. Their ability to think, use and recognise language and their fine motor skills will be developed through play, art dance, music, movement and interacting with others.

The Queensland kindergarten learning guideline (QKLG)

The Queensland kindergarten learning guideline (QKLG) provides advice for planning, interacting with children, monitoring and assessing, and sharing information in kindergarten contexts.

The Continua of learning and development is a resource that helps teachers assess, reflect and make evidence-based judgments about children’s learning progress. This information is used to plan ways to promote continuity of children’s learning and development.

Extra Curricular Activities

Little Ted’s offers a range of extra curricular activities for children to participate in. The children in the Kindergarten room enjoy learning French through Play Frog Language Tuition. The Kindy children also enjoy having Chrissy come in for our weekly Yoga session.

Our French lesson with Miss Corinne runs on Monday at 11:30am.

Yoga with Chrissy is on Friday at 1:00pm.

All children are welcome to participate in these activities. If your child doesn’t attend on these days, you are welcome to bring your child in and stay with them for the duration of these lessons.

Physi kids believe healthy active living should begin very early in life. For this to happen, children need to be exposed to experiences that promote exercise through a fun and encouraging environment. Therefore, generating a positive attitude towards physical activity!

Physi Kids comes to the Centre on Wednesday mornings at 10:00am. Miss Kay takes the class and it is $10 per child, per lesson to participate.

Happy Feet Fitness is a regularly scheduled activity held at early learning centres and schools across Australia. Our award winning program draws on the fun of movement and dance, the creativity of music, and the joy of active play. Each week we deliver a new and exciting interactive themed adventure and all of our classes are specially designed to encourage participation, expression and social interaction. Children shine the most when they feel like they belong and Happy Feet classes create a non-competitive, safe, happy environment for all children to learn, laugh and grow.

Miss Sofi runs our Happy Feet Fitness class on Tuesday mornings at 9:00am. Children are able to participate from 18 months old. The class cost is $9.50 per week to participate.
